Many of us use tracking systems like Award Wallet, but we often find that points and/or miles do not post on time. In case you are one like me who got recently stuck with the World of Hyatt, then I’d suggest you look at your World of Hyatt Account.
World of Hyatt Credit Card
A few months back, I signed up for the World of Hyatt credit card from Chase. When I signed up for the card back in December, the card still had a bonus of 60,000 points. This bonus point offer was tiered. 40,000 World of Hyatt points for spending $3,000 in the first three months after signing up. If you spend a total of $6,000 in the first six months, you get a total of 60,000 World of Hyatt Points.
Currently, the World of Hyatt Credit Card is offering a sign up bonus of 50,000 World of Hyatt points. You can earn 25,000 Bonus Points after you spend $3,000 on purchases within the first 3 months of account opening. Also, you can earn an additional 25,000 Bonus Points after you spend $6,000 total on purchases within the first 6 months of account opening. Please note that as per recent reports, this card is subject to Chase’s 5/24 rule.
World of Hyatt points not posting?
I was looking to research a Hyatt property and happened to log into my account. To my shock, I saw that there were no points deposited into the account. My initial thought was that I had missed meeting the minimum spend requirement. I checked my records and found that I had met the requirement about a month in advance.
This left me with two possibilities. Either Hyatt’s having some IT issues or there’s something stuck on Chase’s side. Before making any phone calls, I checked my World of Hyatt credit card statement and it showed that I had earned points for meeting spend during that month.
Calling Chase
I called up Chase first to figure out what was happening. Chase confirmed that as per their records, I’d met the minimum spend and that the points appearing on my credit card statement are correct.
Calling Hyatt
I called up Hyatt and the representative confirmed that there was some IT issue which was causing a delay in points being transferred. This would primarily affect customers who spend on the World of Hyatt card and hoped that the points would transfer to Hyatt after the statement closes.
After analyzing the issue issue further, the representative assured that they were working with Chase to fix the issue and that I should see a correction in about 7-10 days.
Update
I routinely checked my World of Hyatt account to see if the points had been deposited. Three days after calling both Chase and Hyatt, I finally saw that the points that I’d earned from the sign up bonus had been deposited into my World of Hyatt successfully! Also, the points posted retroactively.
If you see them in your account, you may not even know that there was a glitch. However, it never hurts to check!
The Pundit’s Mantra
Don’t fret if you don’t see your Hyatt points deposited into your account for your latest statement. Firstly, I’d advise you to check your World of Hyatt credit card statement to see if/how many points have been deposited. Secondly, if there’s a mismatch, you should follow up with Chase and/or Hyatt to get it fixed.

Fortunately I have not had an issue with my points showing up, however I have not been seeing the 2 nights show up for the corresponding $5k in spend. Contacted hyatt, they said it was chase, contacted chase and they said it was hyatt. Has anyone else had this issue?
Mine posted something like one day after statement close. Apparently, Chase and Hyatt have a different arrangement than Chase and Marriott.
That’s ideally how it should post. Hyatt’s customer service was quite clear in stating that there was a problem on Chase’s end with the points posting from credit card spend.
That’s interesting. My statement for April closes next week. I’ll be keeping an eye open to check if the problem persists during this month as well.
