TL;DR
It is one of the better Priority Pass lounges out there. It offers a lot of amenities, but many of them are sold separately. I had a late flight to Miami, and wanted to try out some of the extra amenities, which were on the extra side. The day rooms are nice, but very cramped, but they do include a shower. The lounge itself was packed. I don’t know if it would be worth staying there too long.
The Good: Peaceful comfortable bed for a three hour day room.
The Bad: It costs extra, and the room is very small. Limited personal space was an issue.
The Noteworthy: It was packed, I haven’t seen a lounge at Heathrow this full.
Getting to the Lounge
After staying about two and a half hours at the Cathay Pacific Lounge London, I went to give the No1 Lounge a try. It is a member of Priority Pass Network, and it has been consistently rated as one of the best ones. You can access from the lounges corridor in the Terminal 3 walkway.
Lounge Itself
The Lounge itself is pretty nice. There is a full service bar, with some drinks costing extra. Next to the bar, is a breakfast buffet, which had all the continental breakfast basics.
Down the lounge itself, there is a long seating area, which at the time I was there, was basically all full. I counted about 5 empty seats, and no empty seat pairs.
There are some VIP seating areas, that all said reserved. I assume these are for airline passengers in First Class, or areas that you pay more for. I am not 100% sure, and I didn’t bother to ask. They were nice, but meh nice.
There are a few computer workstations, but not many. When I walked around, I only saw one that was unoccupied. Very different to what I saw at the Cathay Lounge, that had new computers, and all were available.
At the end of the lounge, there is a travel spa. All treatments are paid, and some are quite pricey. There are also showers, which you need to pay for.
Walking back to the main entrance, there is a children’s room, with cartoons on a TV and no visible toys, so it’s very underwhelming. Closest to the entrance there is a faux-flower wall, with egg seats (as best I can describe them). They were comfortable, but felt weird to sit in, it was like a swing, that wasn’t meant to swing.
The Day Rooms
I booked a day room for 3 hours, since I really wanted to get some sleep before my flight. As soon as I spoke with the entrance agent, she arranged one for me. They are all in an area separate from the lounge. They are small, cubicle sized rooms, with their own showers. Each bed has a TV built in.
The bathroom is part of the shower, and it is very narrow, but it can be used comfortable as a shower. They had nice toiletries (can’t remember the brand) and a hair dryer.
Between the bed and the shower, there is a small desk, with a phone and power adapters. Underneath there is a fridge, which had two bottles of water. They were free, I should add.
Sleep comfort was wonderful, the beds are firm, but not hard, and the room was kept very cool. I slept for about 2h30m, and afterwards took a quick shower. Water pressure was good, and the water warmed up quickly.
Landing Thoughts
I liked the lounge, but I wouldn’t call it the best Priority Pass lounge out there. It offers a wide variety of amenities, but most of them are pay-per-use. Even then, you have a “time limit” you can stay, which was weird. Would I recommend this lounge? Yes, if you have no other lounge to go to. Would I buy another day room? Yes, if I had a long layover as I did. Is it the best lounge at Heathrow T3? Not by a mile. I would rate it about a 3.5/5.
