WASHINGTON D.C. – In a unique twist that reflects this town’s obsession with news, the Old Ebbitt Grill serves up a few headlines along with your receipt when you’re paying the bill.

It’s appropriate for this headline-driven town, don’t you think? It also gave me a chuckle since I was there with a longtime, witty source back from my airline reporting days! This restaurant, by the way, is Washington landmark since 1856 and a short walk away from the White House. It’s a popular spot for business lunches and dinners.

Traveler tip: If you come, don’t miss the oysters, which are flown in daily. Via Twitter, road warrior @ptacha reminded me the Old Ebbitt Grill sells certain oysters for $1 a pop during happy hour.
