New American Express Centurion Lounge Coming to HKG Bottom Line

American Express has officially unveiled the first international Centurion Lounge location, Hong Kong. The new American Express Centurion Lounge HKG will open by the end of the year. According to The Points Guy’s Zach Honig, the lounge will be the airline’s first proper Centurion lounge, given that they already have 10 international lounges.

Who, What, Where, When?

The Centurion Lounge collection is one of the best perks of the American Express Business Platinum OPEN and Platinum Personal Card. They have a network in the US and also include Priority Pass lounge access. The new lounge will be located in HKG’s Terminal 1, where most international flights depart from. It is meant to be modeled from the US lounges. I expect to see all of the amenities from these lounges in the new HKG location. Centurion Lounges have a full-service bar, hot and cold buffet and some locations have spas. The lounge is slated to open by the end of the year.

Landing Thoughts

I am very excited to see the Centurion Lounge collection expanding to new places. The lounges are my favorite domestic airline lounge. They offer great products when it comes to food and fairly fast wifi. The locations in the US are getting crowded, given how good they are and that people now know about them. With their first international expansion, I can foresee their success and continued expansion to new locations.

I am excited to see how this lounge compares to the Wing and the Pier Cathay Pacific Lounges. In the next couple of months, I look to pass by these locations and trying out these lounges. Hopefully, the Centurion Lounge will be just as good. With the issue of crowding, however, I believe there will be controls on access, given that HKG is a larger terminal than most locations in the US. With such a volume, the company will need to find a working system.

What do you think? Are you excited about the new American Express Centurion Lounge HKG? Where would you like to see the next Centurion Lounge open?
