Is a Motorbike Transfer the coolest way to go to the airport?

Yes, it is. You can keep your Uber or your limousine as a motorbike transfer has a panache that can’t be beat. I say this like I have actually used the service, but I confess I have not.

It is amazing what you find out online. I am a member of a Facebook group for frequent flyers and one divulged the little known fact that motorbike transfers are available in London.

Your London Motorbike Service

The company operating this is called Limobike and it costs £85 for an airport transfer. Before you get excited, you must be travelling with hand luggage only as there is no space for big bags on a motorbike obviously.

You can use the AirPortr service in London if you have bags as they collect them from your house and take them to the airport. This would leave you free to get your Limobike. Just saying!

Virgin Atlantic Passengers Get It Free!

For those who are flying Upper Class on Virgin Atlantic there is pretty good news. As long as you are in a J, C, D or I class fare bucket you are entitled to a free Limobike transfer to London Heathrow.

This is because Virgin offer free transfers to the airport when flying Upper Class. What is not commonly known is that Limobike is included as one of the options available for this.

Overall Thoughts

I think I have made it clear that I would be all over this like a rash given the opportunity. I have not yet had the pleasure of flying Virgin Atlantic but if I was flying with them I’d give the motorbike transfer a go.

Happily it is available to anyone so I have a sneaky feeling that I am going to give this a whirl next time I am heading to London Heathrow from somewhere in London. Cheers to Peter Warne for mentioning it on Facebook!
