Of course, cash fares on these flights may be pretty reasonable, so it isn’t necessarily the best use of Alaska miles. But if your miles rich and cash poor, you may as well take advantage if you need to travel in markets where these award sale prices are available. This also highlights the competitive dynamic between Alaska and Delta. As you likely remember, Delta has announced some discount award pricing of its own in many markets.
