The Dallas Morning News reports today that a man is suing La Quinta Inns & Suites, charging that he was accosted by police at one of its Dallas locations.
According to the article, the man says in court documents that he was mistaken for a wanted criminal on June 16, when he was in town to attend a Baptist convention with family. The story includes a link to the man’s lawsuit filing.
The man was staying at a La Quinta when he received a call at about 6:30 a.m. saying he was needed at the front desk to fix a problem with his credit card, the story said.

But when he opened the door, he said he saw six officers from the Dallas Police Department and the U.S. Marshals Service – and that there were firearms pointed at him, according to the Dallas Morning News article.
