TravelUpdate is Live from the 27th Annual Freddie Awards!
The Unaccompanied Flyer and TravelUpdate.com are excited to announce live coverage from the 27th annual Freddie Awards. This year’s Freddie Awards are being held in Jersey City, New Jersey. Coverage begins around 4:45 PM eastern time.
What are the Freddie Awards?
Each year, frequent flyers from around the world vote on the best frequent flyer programs, traveler credit cards, and loyalty programs. The Freddie Awards are named in honor of Sir Frederick Alfred Laker, aka Sir Freddie Laker. Sir Laker was knighted by Queen Elizabeth in 1978 in recognition of his contributions to commercial aviation, specifically in the field of marketing.
To honor Sir Freddie Laker, InsideFlyer and BoardingArea founder Randy Petersen introduced the annual Freddie Awards. As previously noted, travelers vote on loyalty programs and traveler credit cards. The programs that received the most votes are awarded each year at the Freddie Awards ceremony.

Live Coverage from the 27th Annual Freddie Awards!
I’m on my way to New York’s LaGuardia Airport at the moment. I’ll be attending the 27th awards ceremony and providing live coverage of the event. I will not only cover the awards ceremony and who the winners are but also what it’s like to attend such a professional and noteworthy event as a high school senior.
