If you’re like me, you’ll often wonder what they are going to serve on board a flight. Colour me surprised when I found out that Japan Airlines puts their future flight menus online.
These are searchable by class and route, so you know exactly what you’re going to get. Since I’ll be flying on the oneworld alliance carrier in July, let’s see what’s on offer.
Business Class London to Tokyo
On board, Japan Airlines offer a choice between a Japanese meal and a western meal. I always try the cuisine of the country the airline is from where possible, so I know what I’ll be choosing on this flight.
Economy Class Tokyo to Sydney
Economy class also get to see their future flight menus online. I was originally flying in Premium Economy until an aircraft swap meant that class was no longer available. No bother, I am getting to try what is considered the world’s best economy class, so I am not complaining.
Overall Thoughts
One of the great things about having the future flight menus online is that you can decide if you need to bring your own food or not. For me though it adds to the anticipation of what I’ll be stuffing my face with on board.
Do you prefer to see your menu before flying or would you rather be surprised on the day? What is the food like on Japan Airlines, if you’ve flown them before? Thank you for reading and if you have any comments or questions, please leave them below.

Japan Airlines really does have the best First Class catering of any airline, whether it’s the Western (such as the blue lobster or USDA Prime or Wagyu steaks–JAL’s steaks in F are full size and always perfectly cooked to order) or the Japanese selections. JAL never disappoints.
I really hope to fly them in First Class sometime. I’ve heard it’s all pretty amazing and you’ve really illustrated that. Sounds delicious! Thanks for the comment!
