TAMPA – I wish that every hotel made it this easy (see photo above) for guests to find the hair dryer – and use it. I can’t stand when hotels not only hide the hair dryer in an odd spot, but also lock it up in a hard-to-untie cloth bag. (The hidden-hair dryer was one of my hotel pet peeves cited in the New York Times recently!)

And I’m not alone.

When I checked into the newly opened Le Meridien hotel in downtown Tampa for a night last week, I was pleasantly surprised to find the hair dryer immediately – even before reaching the bathroom. The hotel stores them in the guest room closet, which is brightly lit once the doors are opened. No tricks. No bag. (The photo, by the way, generated more than 20 “likes” on Facebook plus 10 comments.)

“Too funny!” frequent traveler Katie Coleman chimed in on the Facebook discussion. “I actually had to call the front desk to ask where the hair dryer was hiding at my hotel this morning. In the closet in a hard-to-untie bag.”

Readers: Do you ever have problems locating the hair dryer in your hotel? Or do you bring your own with you?
