THE LAST A380 DELIVERED TO EMIRATES – Sam Chui

Definitely a bittersweet day. The aircraft market has moved in a different direction, and after 123 deliveries, there will be no more A380s produced. I hope to fly them at least a handful more times over the coming decade.

ALASKA AIRLINES IS GIVING ELITES A LITTLE MORE TIME TO QUALIFY – Monkey Miles

This might save me retaining MVP Gold 75K status. Unlikely. It’s still a nice second chance, especially if you have Alaska Airlines travel planned in the first third of 2022. The status extension is nice as well.

Qantas to switch to Airbus Narrow-body aircraft – Economy Class & Beyond

Another blow to Boeing. The move makes sense for Qantas for multiple reasons, though. The A321XLR and A220-300 seem like a good short-haul fleet choice.
