You might remember that Delta has launched a partnership with Hertz that will grant you some level of Hertz status depending on your SkyMiles Medallion status (Gold and higher).
This promotion first became available back in December. I registered immediately, but was advised that my registration had already been processed and I needed to wait. DeltaPoints covered some of the issues with this extensively.
Well, rather than be proactive like DeltaPoints, I decided to wait it out. Then I waited, and waited, and waited, and waited some more. In the end, something that I first attempted to register for around the Christmas holidays finally appeared on April 2, 2015. This isn’t my first time as a President’s Circle member, and I’m excited to have it again. My prior experience was that it really made a difference in the quality of cars received, in addition to how far I had to walk when arriving at the Hertz facility. I’ll let you know how it goes. If you are a Delta Medallion with Gold status or higher, be sure you register for your benefit.

My current rental has ~8,000 miles and my preview one was under 300 miles. My past several Hertz rentals have been closer to 35,000 miles. If there is a significant price difference I could be convinced to book Hertz again but the way things are going I am starting to book National… Read more »
As much as I like Hertz I have noticed that the cars I am getting have high mileage and are parked in the back 40. I earned President’s Circle the hard way by actually renting vehicles. Now that there are so many more President’s Circle people I wonder why I don’t move to Avis? It IS very frustrating!
My experience is that Hertz status is not worth the paper it’s written on. When everyone has status no has status.
Like a lot of people, I’m finding myself booking National more often. I used to be a Hertz die-hard, but the cars seem to have gotten older. A recent rental at RDU where my car was the only one on the lot covered with 5 inches of snow didn’t help improve my attitude. 🙂
