If you’ve ever read my “About” story, you probably picked up on the fact that I’m an airplane geek from way back…..like…childhood. Back before I wanted to be a “wannabe” sea captain, I wanted to be an airline captain. I was this close, but Diabetes took care of that. In spite of that, I still love a little airplane geekery from time to time, and there’s no better place for that than the National Air & Space Museum Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center near Washington Dulles International (IAD). I’m slightly ashamed of the fact that I live in DC, but have not visited the Udvar-Hazy Center until this past weekend. Oh well, life happens….and I finally got there. Admission is free, but parking is $15 dollars. The best $15 dollars I’ve spent in a long time. I’ll let the pics speak for themselves…..and this is just a sampling.

So cool there. I was picking up my fiancee at IAD last November and took the shuttle over for a visit. I must have five bajillion pictures.
