3X AAdvantage Bonus Miles for Citi Exec Online Purchases (Targeted)

a screenshot of a phone

To be clear up front, this is certainly a targeted offer, but I thought it was worth discussing here. I received both a mailer and an email for it on the same day (Wednesday) for 3X bonus miles for purchases made with my Citi AAdvantage Executive card.

“Online purchases” is a pretty broad category. I can buy just about anything online, and frequently do. Of course, online purchases of AA tickets are excluded. On the other hand, I don’t see anything in the terms and conditions that exclude Amazon, where I frequently shop. I just might take advantage (no pun intended) of this, even if it is capped at 2,500 miles. Did you receive an offer for your Citi AAdvantage card? What was it? Share in the comments, including the type of card you have and the offer.

Offer terms and conditions

1This offer starts upon enrollment and will end on 09/30/2015. AAdvantage® miles earned with this offer are subject to a maximum of 2,500 AAdvantage® bonus miles. This offer excludes the double miles benefit on eligible American Airlines and US Airways purchases, balance transfers, cash advances, convenience checks, items returned for credit, fees and interest charges. Online purchases are transactions made via a computer network or other online service. We reserve the right to determine which purchases qualify for this offer. […] 3X AAdvantage Bonus Miles from Citi Executive Card […]

Lisa K

I have a Citi AA Plat. card. My offer was on restaurants, movies theatre and show theatre.

I called Citi last week to pay my bill and they offered me the same promotion, so I enrolled right away. I never got a mailer or email for this promotion, but it was in my account when I called a week ago. I went online and bought 3 $500 VGCs with it a few days after enrolling. Will have to wait and see if I get the bonus!
