Cathay Pacific is turning 75 and you can get some interesting keepsakes

Cathay Pacific is turning 75 this month and they are marking the occasion with some interesting memorabilia. In line with current trends, these feature upcycling of some everyday items into interesting design pieces.

You can use miles to make a purchase if you are a member of the Hong Kong airline’s frequent flyer programme. For everyone else, you can use real money, but you’ll need to check if they deliver to your country first!

There are some interesting items available and the one that caught my eye were the cushions. These are made from upcycled flight and cabin crew uniforms. The uniforms have also been turned into teddy bears, pouches and bags.

What is sure to become a collectable are the 435 cardholder and pen sets inspired by the Boeing 747-400. While that is nice, what’s more fun is they are made from an actual Cathay Pacific jumbo, B-HUJ. There are several other items available, which are worth checking out. Unfortunately for me, they don’t deliver to Ireland, sadly. Many other countries that have CX service are included, so you are likely to be able to get what you want.

Overall Thoughts

You can see Cathay Pacific’s 75th anniversary webpage here. It has links to all the products you can buy, as well as to things such as stories and their historical archives.

The oneworld alliance airline has gone through a turbulent time over the past few years. I have always enjoyed flying with them and hope to see them around for at least another 75 years.
