South American airline LATAM has unveiled new cabin interiors. These will roll out across the entire fleet over the next two years, improving the passenger experience.
The design was contracted to PriestmanGoode, who are also responsible for WestJet’s new Boeing 787-9 interiors as well as Qatar Airways’ much lauded business class QSuite.
LATAM Business Class Cabin Interiors
Customised Thompson seating was selected for the business class cabin. This will allow all passengers direct aisle access for the first time.
LATAM Economy Class Cabin Interiors
Economy Class and LATAM+ have not been forgotten either. Inspired by the South American coastline, the colours represent the ocean and sand dunes.
Overall Thoughts
The oneworld alliance carrier has excellent coverage throughout South America. LATAM came about through the merger of Chile’s LAN and Brazil’s TAM, and there are other related divisions in Argentina, Colombia, Ecuador, Paraguay and Peru.
Seating in business class provides options for solo travellers in the window seats and for couples in the middle section. It brings the airline’s on board product up to date with current trends.
What do you think of the new LATAM cabin interiors? You can see the current business class in a review I wrote here. Thank you for reading and if you have any comments or questions, please leave them below.

The leg/foot space looks like a coffin it’s so long and doesn’t seem very spacious in terms of height under there, either. I am not a tall person but it looks tight for people with large feet or side sleepers.
Yes, you’re right on that. When I flew in the similar seats with Qantas, there is not a lot of foot space. It’s a particular bug bear of mine, as I like to have plenty of room for my feet. It’s annoying trying to sleep and your feet are too enclosed to move freely. Thanks for the comment!
Thanks! Looks nice! Flew couple different flights on LATAM and have to say their A320s are tight… I like to see that business class is getting more private.
I’ve not flown with them on short haul before. It sounds like they have a seating density that’s pretty similar to what everyone else is doing. Thanks for the comment!
Just recently flew on LATAM (codeshare) as part of an AA itinerary. Awful experience. Despite having status with American, could not get out of the garbage economy seats on LATAM, not even if we paid! My 6’3″ son was MISERABLE the entire flight; I’m a bit shorter, so I survived, but it was really uncomfortable.
LAN Chile used to have a very nice product. LATAM falls far short of that.
I’m sorry to hear that, I’ve only had good experiences flying with LATAM personally. Being tall is often torture in economy class seating. Perhaps the new seats will address the problem as they tend to be better designed for space at knee level. Thanks for the comment!
