Do you know British Airways have an Avios Balance Booster offer right now?

One of the more obscure things that British Airways offer is the Avios Balance Booster. This little mechanism allows you to boost all the Avios you’ve earned over the past 30 days by one, two or three times.

At the moment there is an offer on, which allows you to boost your Avios by up to four times. The really great thing about this one is that it permits the boosting of all your Avios from the entire year 2024.

How does Avios Balance Booster work?

First of all, you head on over to the BA Avios shopping portal. Once you login, you select Balance Boost from the top menu. On the left hand side, you will see all your Avios earned for the year. This is presented transaction by transaction and you can select what you want to boost.

On the right hand side, you can select whether you want to boost by 100%, 200%, 300% or 400%. In my own case, I had not been doing much revenue flying in 2024, so I ended up boosting 1,634 Avios at 400% into 6,536 for a grand total of €72.55. You’d not find anywhere to earn that many Avios for that small a price, so it’s well worth doing.

Overall Thoughts

There you have it, you can boost an entire year’s worth of Avios in one go. You have until midnight on Monday 3 February 2025 to avail of the offer.

Interesting to see something generous coming out of Avios and British Airways. Nice of them to throw us a bone at this stage after decimating their frequent flyer programme, but still a bone that attracts a fee.

Have you used Avios balance booster before? Will you be buying some points in this offer? Thank you for reading and if you have any comments or questions, please leave them below.

  1. Simply a panic response to the way their latest cuts have gone down… We know dynamic pricing is on it’s way, the new “club” targets are ridiculous and entirely unachievable for most . On top of that a devaluation seems likely…

BUT this all ignores the fact that the “core” BA service is uncompetitive and overpriced without the BAEC sweeteners. IT meltdowns, filthy, badly maintained cabins, airframe densification, missing or entirely absent catering and no functional customer service channels…

    1. Well, I do believe the same offer was made last year, so it probably was just time for it again. Dynamic pricing is only a matter of time, 100%. I agree that the Executive Club certainly made BA more appealing. Lots to work on, it seems!

  2. Be careful, be very careful…

The next BA step will be Avios dynamic pricing or devaluation – probably both!

I would only take this if I had _immediate_ plans to spend those Avios, no matter how cheap the ‘offer’.

    1. Yes, that’s good advice! For me, it’s such a small amount that it doesn’t matter, but if someone were boosting a large amount, absolutely they should have a plan for it. I’ve only ever purchased Avios in the past when I’ve needed it for a specific reason. Best way to do it, in my opinion, so I agree completely.
