The Blue Business Plus card by American Express is one of my favorite business credit cards. It offers a simple 2x points per each dollar spent (max $50k per calendar year), charges no annual fee and helps you earn transferable Membership Rewards points. At the moment, Amex is targeting users with a higher than usual welcome bonus offer.

Blue Business Plus Card

With this offer on the Blue Business Plus card, you’ll earn a welcome bonus of 25,000 Membership Rewards points. You’ll earn the welcome bonus after you spend $15,000 in the first 12 months of card membership.

Moreover, you will also enjoy a 0% APR on purchases for the first 12 months. Over the last few months, we’ve seen Amex target customers with card products that they already have. We’ve seen multiple targeted offers that people have received on Business Platinum Cards, while already carrying the very same card in their wallet.

In this case, I checked and saw that I was also targeted for this offer even though I already have the Blue Business Plus card. You can click on this link and check if you’re also targeted.

Additional Points for Authorized Users

In addition to 25,000 Membership Rewards points, you can also earn extra points for adding authorized users. You will earn an additional 5,000 points for each authorized user once the authorized user spends $1,000 in the first 12 months.

Add an Employee Card Member to your Account at the time of application and you can earn 5,000 Membership Rewards® points after the Employee Card Member spends $1,000 (the “Threshold Amount”) or more in eligible purchases on their Card within their first 12 months of Card Membership starting from the date on which the Employee Card is added to your Account. The 5,000 Membership Rewards® points will be credited to the Basic Card Member’s Account 8-12 weeks after the Threshold Amount has been met.

No Lifetime Language

American Express does not let you get a welcome bonus for the same card over and over again. However, every now and then, Amex sends out offers which do not contain the ‘lifetime language’ restrictions. In case of this offer, the lifetime language restrictions do not exist.

The Pundit’s Mantra

If you’re targeted, then this is a great offer if you want to have a another Blue Business Plus card. I already have one and plan to get another. The card works great for any spend that earns a simple 2x on all purchases which don’t fall into any bonus category.

This card can also be a great option if you simply want to keep your Membership Rewards points active. Amex pools the Membership Rewards points earned from all cards into a single account. Let’s say, you want to cancel the Platinum card when the $695 fee comes due, you can still keep the points active with the Blue Business Plus card by simply keeping it open without having to pay any annual fee.
