An update on DFW airport construction projects

I got to fly for the first time in a month so I thought an update on the construction at DFW would be in order.

Terminal C garage:

First the Terminal C new south garage. I didn’t get a direct look but here are 2 views of the large cranes that are still busy there as well as 2 views of the inside of the garage as seen from the station in Terminal C. It looks like it will be a really large garage.

New Terminal F:

The new terminal F is coming along strongly. There are new construction details on the outside of the building and now construction has started on the train terminals for Terminal F.

Large areas of the tarmac are still dirt so there is a lot of concrete that will have to be laid down. This terminal will have some of the biggest planes so the surface will have to be extra strong. Still a lot of work.

This is the only picture I got of the new station terminal construction that is happening between the 2 lines at the moment. The train slows dramatically while it moves through this area.

I saw this nice detail at the front of the terminal. It will be nice to see when completed.

The glass installation on the center part of the terminal has been completed and now it is the turn of the left side. You can see there is still a lot of surface work to complete on this side too.

Terminal C extension:

This is the part of the construction that I believe will be completed first. The construction and finish of the terminal looks to be completed. The jet bridges are in place, gate numbers are on those jet bridges and I am sure they are now finishing up the liquid pipes installment.

The finish of this side is really elegant.

As a reminder here are some of the renderings that line the area of Terminal C that is under construction. The first picture shows you the 8 gates that are part of the new wing and the second is a view of the hallways.

Terminal A extension:

The terminal A extension is also coming along nicely. Here are 2 views of it from the plane during takeoff. You can see that they are not as far along as terminal C but it looks like most construction of the building itself is done.

This second picture shows you the proximity of the new construction to the 2 train lines that you can access. The far line takes you to Fort Worth and the near line takes you to Dallas. The stations have that very distinctive sail feature on the platforms.

Other updates:

There are new signs saying that the right turn to Terminal A from the north bound road is now open as well as the right turn to Terminal B from the southbound road.

It will be especially fun to watch the construction of the station for terminal F. I will keep you updated every month or 2 with some clearer photos.
