An MJ on Travel Group Cruise Update

I’ve done a few group cruises, and they can be a lot of fun. Several months ago I broached the idea of a group cruise for MJ on Travel readers and their friends. I detected enough interest that I thought it was a viable option at the time. Then, Carnival Triumph happened. The predictable media attention, the red bags for …well, you know. I began to doubt the marketability of a group cruise through the blog.

Now that a little time has passed, I’ve sensed some interest in resuming a discussion about hosting a group cruise. Still speaking in generalities for now, but I lean towards a shorter itinerary of 3 or 4 nights. The price point for those cruises is attractive to many, and for the first timers, a shorter cruise offers an opportunity to sample a cruise knowing you won’t have to wait long for it to end if you don’t like it. Most I know don’t want the cruise to end, but stuff happens. Premise still the same – cruise bookings would be handled through a professional travel agent, not me. You would have plenty of free time to enjoy your vacation, and all the free advice you want from me to help you enjoy your cruise. A rough agenda:

  • 3 or 4 nights
  • Bahamas, including cruise line private island
  • A cruising pep talk onboard by yours truly (cocktails included included, of course)
  • Another pep talk on travel by a featured travel blogger (perhaps more than one)

I’ve launched a poll to gauge your interest on itinerary options. I’d love to hear what you think

Sorry, there are no polls available at the moment.
