American Express Business Gold Card

Lucky from One Mile at a Time (H/T) has reported that the Amex Business Gold Card is offering an increased sign-up bonus. This bonus is only available until April 7, 2021. This is not a targeted offer, according to Mark from Miles to Memories (H/T). But there are higher targeted offers that could be worth up to 90,000 Membership Rewards (MR) points. This post focuses on the limited time public offer that’s worth 70,000 MR points, which is still fantastic for the Business Gold Card.

What’s Going On?

American Express is now offering a sign-up bonus worth 70,000 MR points. This bonus can be earned by spending $10,000 within the first three months. Amex’s limited time bonus is exactly double the normal bonus for this card. Normally, Amex offers 35,000 MR points for $5,000 within the first three months for the Amex Business Gold Card.

Plus, Amex is offering up to $300 in statement credits. Business Gold cardholders can receive up to $150 back on US advertising in select media and up to $150 back on US shipping within the first three months. There is no minimum spending requirement to receive these credits.

Business Gold Card Overview

The Amex Business Gold Card is an incredibly valuable business charge card. It earns MR points quickly in a plethora of categories. In fact, cardholders can select two of the following categories to earn 4x MR points:

  • Airfare (purchased directly from airlines)
  • Advertising in select media
  • Computer hardware, software, and cloud computing purchases made directly from select providers
  • Dining
  • Gas Stations
  • Shipping

Purchases made within the other categories earn 2x points. Plus, all non-bonus spend will earn just one point per dollar. However, the Amex Business Gold Card has a $295 annual fee, which is NOT waived the first year.

Final Draw

In conclusion, the Amex Business Gold Card is a great option for business owners and entrepreneurs who like Amex’s transfer partners. Now it has just gotten better as Amex doubled the sign-up bonus. However, the minimum spend has also doubled. That makes this increased bonus rival the public bonuses for the Business Platinum Card.
