Royal Caribbean announced today that the company will delay expansion of its new Dynamic Dining concept to Oasis and Allure of the Seas until “later this year.” Dynamic Dining is different from traditional cruise ship dining. Instead of one big dining room with fixed seating times and tables, there are four complementary restaurants, each with its own decor and menu style.
Currently, Dynamic Dining is only available on Quantum of the Seas, but was planned to be expanded to Oasis of the Seas in March, and Allure of the Seas in May. While I enjoyed Dynamic Dining aboard Quantum of the Seas, there were a number of IT glitches with the reservation system that were a source of great irritation to many guests. I expect that Royal is delaying any expansion until it can resolve those problems, and that’s probably a wise move.
