Air Canada announced that its Airbus A220 fleet will feature the new Airbus Airspace cabin design. The A220’s new spacious cabin will be equipped with Airspace XL bins. This allows each passenger to stow one carry-on bag. The aircraft’s large windows will provide abundant natural light. Additionally, the Air Canada A220 offers advanced amenities such as full-color LED lighting and customizable mood settings to reduce fatigue.

Air Canada Launches A220 Airspace Cabin Design
The Airspace cabin design introduces several enhancements to the A220:
- Airspace XL Bins: These spacious overhead compartments accommodate one carry-on bag per passenger, making the boarding process more efficient.
- Large Windows: The A220 features the largest windows in its class.
- Comfortable Seating: Passengers benefit from wide seats and aisles, thanks to the 2×3 configuration in economy.
- Advanced Lighting: Full-color LED ambient lighting creates a pleasant atmosphere and can be customized to suit passenger preferences.

The Air Canada A220
Air Canada operates the Airbus A220-300, configured with 137 seats:
- Business Class: 12 seats in a 2-2 layout, offering extra legroom and modern amenities.
- Economy Class: 125 seats in a 3-2 configuration, each measuring 19 inches in width, the widest in Air Canada’s fleet.
There is a personal in-flight entertainment systems at each seat. Air Canada equipped their A220s with Wi-Fi. The A220’s range allows Air Canada to deploy the aircraft on most of their North America routes.

Air Canada adding Airspace cabins to their A220s is going to improve the passenger experience. The A220 is already a great plane to fly. With these new additions, especially larger overhead bins, Air Canada passengers will be able to avoid gate-checking their bags.
