Get a little AerSpace in your life with Aer Lingus

Ireland’s Aer Lingus has a curious product on their European services which they call AerSpace. It is not business class, it is not economy class – it’s somewhere in between.

The product includes lounge access, Fast-Track security in Dublin, baggage, cabin baggage, priority boarding and is refundable. On board, it guarantees the middle seat free and you have dedicated overhead locker space.

AerSpace with lie-flat seats exists!

Savvy flyers using the Irish airline’s services will know that some flights are operated by long-haul aircraft. These are either A330s or Airbus A321s, and AerSpace uses what is usually the business class cabin.

As you can see on the aeroLOPA seat map above, this is no three by three with a middle seat free. The seats are full lie-flat which include features such as a massage function. The new Airbus A321XLR is operating EI604 and EI605 between Dublin and Amsterdam in the new schedule and I happen to be going there. The lowest priced ticket was €126, but I paid the extra €110 for AerSpace. Why? Lounge access (€40 if paying in), complimentary food from the menu (at least €10) and those seats.

Overall Thoughts

AerSpace is a solid product when you get a long-haul aircraft. I know that you can find the lie-flat seats on some of the London Heathrow services, Paris, Faro and a couple more as well. All you need to look for is an A330 or A321 as the operating aircraft.

Other European airlines also use internationally configured aircraft on short flights. My favourite is the Finnair A350 from Helsinki to London with the new AirLounge seats, but you’ll find many other examples too.

Have you flown AerSpace with Aer Lingus before? What do you think of it? Thank you for reading and if you have any comments or questions, please leave them below.
