TSA PreCheck is a facility offered in the United States of America to smooth out the airport security experience. People who enroll in the service do not need to remove their shoes, laptops, 3-1-1 liquids, belts or light jackets. You usually also have dedicated security lanes with less wait time.

Over 90 airlines worldwide (presumably those that fly to the USA) are part of the programme. This now includes Aer Lingus, the airline with a network connecting Ireland to the States.

Aer Lingus Joins TSA PreCheck

The Irish airline has joined TSA PreCheck and has a page on their website all about it. It appears that you need to add your Known Traveler Number (KTN) at check-in or by contacting Aer Lingus before travel. This is different to many airlines, where you can just add it online.

Even so, it should be quite a relief for all the members of the service in the USA. No longer will they have to join the usual security lines when flying Aer Lingus from places such as New York, Boston, Washington DC, Orlando, Chicago, Seattle, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Denver, and more.

Overall Thoughts

Good news for the people of the United States with Aer Lingus joining TSA PreCheck. It will mean expedited security access and no need to remove the shoes, which is one of the worst things about travelling in the US. When will this madness ever stop? Who knows!

Hopefully the Irish airline will bring in the ability to add the number on their website, which will further streamline the process for those people who are part of the service. For now though, it’s phone or contact via social media.

What do you think of TSA PreCheck? Is it a great time saver as the website will have it? Thank you for reading and if you have any comments or questions, please leave them below.
