I was in the area so I stayed at the Hilton Washington DC National Mall The Wharf at L’enfant plaza for a few days. It is a rather nice, big hotel set over the roadway and is very useful for getting to the southern and western parts of the mall and the river. The underground train has a stop at L’enfant Plaza too.

The hotel:
This is the colorful light fixture in the lobby with the reception area in the background. The staff at this Hilton were all very friendly. From the reception staff (especially Ana Victoria) to the bar service and the room service staff it was fun to deal with them.

Here is one of the waiting areas in the lobby area and then a view of the bar which has more seating areas too. They had very enjoyable food to eat there as well as takeout to your room. I had the cheeseburger and fries which was delicious.

There is a small but efficient store with microwaveable food goodies, a coffee machine for your ‘Starbucks’ style coffee, ice cream, drinks and snacks.
Also a computer table for general use such as printing air tickets and such.

This is the pool. It was covered and we did not have access to the area. Seeing as it is March I suppose they are busy maintaining it for summer.

This was displayed at the elevators telling you where to go – if you can make it out ! Strange design.

The room:
This is the view of the room as you enter. The room ahead, shelf on the left with coffee maker, fridge and safe and the bathroom on the right.

This bathroom has a nice walk in shower with supplied toiletries.
The basin has a nice wide shelf which contains tissues, soap, wipes and make-up mirror. Just above is the shelf with towels and next to that is a squeeze bottle of hand lotion.

The shower contains bottles of shampoo, conditioner and shower gel from Gilchrist and Soames, London Collection. Really nice shampoo that I enjoyed using.

The water was nice and firm and hot, but the hand shower was so ineffectual. We turned the handle fully towards the hand shower and it just produced a weak flow of water. Very weird as the main shower was great.

The bedroom:
A view of the whole room. Full length mirror, bench, table and chair and 2 large beds.

The shelves on the left contain quite a few items. There are 2 glasses, 2 supplied bottles of water and the ice bucket. Then lower is the coffee machine as well as a kettle.
Below that is the refrigerator and an unusual narrow stand up safe.

The cupboard has requisite coat hangars as well as iron and ironing board.
Outside the hotel:
Here is a view of the outside of the front of the hotel, as well as the view from my room of the plaza. The popular Spy Museum, the large grey building is directly opposite.

I had a river view room. I cannot see the river, it is off to the far left where all the traffic is. And that is my view of the Washington Monument.

Conclusion:
This proved to be a very enjoyable stay. The friendliness of the staff, the quality of the food at the bar, the nice beds and the enjoyable showers all added to the enjoyment.
