I had a quick one night stay at the Hampton Inn in San Antonio Downtown. This is the hotel that is just a few blocks from the river walk.

Nice inexpensive position but a little way to walk to get to the riverwalk. It is part of the Hilton network so make sure to give them your Hilton number when you book or check-in so you can get credit for your stay.
The room:
It is a standard room but like other Hampton Inns it is not basic. There is a fold out sofa bed for use as a couch and a table.
Next to the tv unit is a desk with lamp and comfy office chair. Ice bucket is also on the unit.
Next to the bed are plug points that are useful for powering your devices and a clock radio.
A coffee machine is provided as well as the refrigerator and microwave.
A wide view of the room. Hampton Inns have a pleasant amount of space to move.
The small cupboard contains ironing board, iron, hangars, safe and a luggage rack.
The bathroom:
Zero is the brand for all toiletries such as shampoo, conditioner, shower gel and hand cream.
The view of the smallish sink with toiletries and the shower with adjustable spout.
The bathroom provides many towels, has shelves in the shower, and a box of tissues.
A pleasant bathroom for such a small space.
Certain angles in downtown San Antonio do not have very attractive views. There is a large Marriott hotel in the middle of my view but there is not much else to see.
The rest of the hotel:
A usable gym with treadmills, pedaling machines and other items is handy. Extra towels and a water cooler included.
The dining room downstairs where you can have breakfast.
A nice outside pool with relaxing chairs.
Nice that they have a comprehensive store area with all sorts of goodies.
Conclusion:
Hampton Inns are always a pleasant place to stay. They are not expensive but give you everything you might need from a room.
