Now this was a very pleasant airport lounge experience. My first time at the Capital One lounge in Las Vegas.
It was a calm and peaceful visit. the lounge was not busy and it just felt calm and comforting.
Access:
Check in was easy. The lady at the desk made me feel cared for and wished me a happy visit.
The lounge itself is a long curved room that looks out onto the rail arrivals hall. It is a well chosen space as it is easy to access. It is in the D Concourse atrium on the 2nd level near gate D50. The app says it is open from 5am till 11pm at night which are great hours.
There are many seating options available. Individual tables, benches, round tables with 4 chairs, lounging chairs with views out the window and so on.
This is the bar counter. It is near the middle of the lounge with seating spread out on both sides.
Food and drink:
The cappuccino machine is behind the bar counter so that was my first stop.
Here are some of the snacks available when I was there in the morning. The options change depending on the time of day.
The choices included greek yoghurt parfait, avocado toast, brown butter griddle cake with raspberries, black olive shakshuka, chili crisp sweet potato hash, avocado toast with salmon and others. Yum yum.
Coffee, tea, soft drinks and anything from the bar were available to drink. A large variety of choices.
Other facilities:
There are a couple of private work rooms available, as well as I think 6 rest rooms and 1 shower room.
The views:
The main views are over the arrivals hall. Here is a picture of the lounge from the opposite side of the hall. You can see how wide it is.
As a bonus, the left side of the lounge as you walk in has a view onto the tarmac and the planes and control tower.
On leaving:
Capital One lounges have items available for you to take with on your journey. I love the cartons of water and there are always snacks, sandwiches and other titbits that you can take. This is all available as you leave the lounge.
My visit to the Capital One lounge at Las Vegas airport was a delight. It was at most half full while I was there (in contrast to the DFW lounge which is almost always full) so moving around was a breeze.
People standing and waiting outside the American Express lounge has become a common sight in Las Vegas. I hope the Capital One lounge is never that busy.
I would highly recommend this Capital One lounge to anyone passing through this airport.
