In Seattle and got to spend time at the Hyatt Regency hotel on Howell street.
It is about a 15 to 20 minute walk to the waterfront but only 1 block from the Convention Center.
As you can see this is one of those large fancy glass and steel hotels with large reception areas, but the hotel itself I found to be a bit cold and impersonal.

Hotel facilities:
This is the reception area. An amazing light fitting and lovely Christmas tree.

Especially as it is Seattle, a lovely idea to have this assortment of umbrellas available for anyone to use. Really thoughtful.

The elevators are in the center core which leaves large areas for seating and restaurants and this is one of those seating areas.

Here is the sign displaying all the rooms in the hotel. There are 4 large ballrooms and at least 35 other boardrooms and meeting rooms available. The Andare restaurant and bar is on the ground floor. The next floor up has Daniels Broiler restaurant, the coffee shop / market place where you have breakfast and the business center.

The coffee shop/marketplace is on a random strip of corridor on the 2nd floor. There are some tables at the far left behind the escalator where you can sit and eat or drink. Never mind the cold seating situation the staff working at the marketplace were very pleasant, I had fun interacting with them.

On this same strip of corridor is the guest office area where you can look up bookings and flights and print things out. Nice view.

This is a useful vending machine with almost any medical product you might find a need for.

There is a pleasant Fitness Center with great views. This gym is outfitted with Peloton bikes and the latest Technogym cardio and strength equipment. It is a very pleasant space with lots of equipment and a lovely vibe.

A look at where you wait for an elevator on one of the floors. A great design.

The room:
I had a room with 2 beds on a high floor. There was a lovely view out over the city. Here is a daytime and a night time view from my room.

This is a stock photo from the Hyatt website as I have misplaced my photos of the bed. Looks so good.

Here is the desk and chair. Nice modern lamp and mirror and 4 available power plugs in the wall.

Comfy chair with a small table and a high lamp for over shoulder lighting of your reading material. I had my umbrella and beanie ready for Seattle weather.

This stand was in between the beds with phone, radio and alarm, lights and power plugs.

The catering counter with coffee and tea machine, safe, refrigerator and space for storage.

The bathroom:
Pleasant bathroom with one sink, nice glasses, bathroom supplies such as ear buds and makeup wipes, tissues and under the sink is a box with the hair dryer.
A pump bottle of hand lotion is on the wall.

Toiletries are supplied by the Pharmacopia Argan Oil Collection with organic Aloe Vera.

Conclusion:
A pleasant hotel but not much to recommend.
The masses of space on the ground level are very cold and impersonal.
Breakfast was ‘order from the marketplace counter and then eat at the coffee tables with plastic cutlery’. Not much to recommend there.
I also stayed at the AC Hotel just up the hill and that was a much nicer experience – including a really great breakfast.
My wife and I stayed there in September 2024 and found the hotel fine overall but between the lack of a club lounge, incompetent concierge, and nothing much in the area after dark it was not a hotel we’re anxious to revisit.
About 11 months ago, the breakfast was on the main floor. It was a buffet which I found very ordinary, but I was coming after seven weeks of staying in various cities in Asia l, where the buffets are supposed to be phenomenal. The worst part was, they were trying to upsell at every point. You want a latte instead of the drip coffee, which is actually pretty excellent, gotta pay extra, if you want an omelette instead of the scrambled eggs gotta pay extra. based on the article seems they have stopped this buffett. Also, they had a club lounge with serve hors d’oeuvres and drinks in the pre-pandemic era, unfortunately that space is abandoned and not in active use. You might still find a bottle of water or or some dispense soda, but that’s the extent of it.
And the room are pretty ordinary. Overall a very disappointing experience.
