After Marriott acquired Starwood, both Amex and Chase have shared the co-branded credit card portfolio. This is great for many of us in our community. We get more options to chase welcome bonuses, but there’s a huge caveat. Both Amex and Chase have added restrictive language to their offers. This language is based on your past history with a card issuer and with current and previous versions of Marriott’s and Starwood’s co-branded cards. Not following these rules can result in denial or a refusal to award bonus points or free night certificates for an offer. At the moment, Chase is offering a fantastic limited time offer on the Chase Marriott Bonvoy Bold card. You can not only earn 60,000 Marriott Bonvoy points, but also one free night certificate.

Chase Marriott Bonvoy Bold: Earn 60,000 Points & 1 Free Night Certificate

With this welcome bonus offer on the Chase Marriott Bonvoy Bold card, you’ll earn 60,000 bonus points and one free night certificate. You’ll earn the bonus points once you spend $2,000 in the first 3 months of card membership. Moreover, you’ll also earn one free night certificate, capped at 50,000 points per night.

However, Marriott lets you top up free night certificates up to a maximum of additional 15,000 points. Effectively, you can use the free night certificate to redeem at a property charging up to 65,000 Marriott Bonvoy points per night.

The best part about this card is that it charges no annual fee whatsoever!

New Benefit

Chase has now added a brand new benefit, which I think is quite underrated. You can now use Chase’s Pay yourself Back feature to get statement credits for the following purchases:

  • Purchases made with airlines directly
  • Purchases made at hotels in the Marriott Bonvoy Portfolio

In effect, you’re getting 0.8 cents per point on redemptions as you get a $100 statement credit for each batch of 12,500 Marriott Bonvoy points you redeem. Your total redemption value in the form of statement credits per year cannot exceed $750.
