Don’t book this hotel if you need to shower in private!

Most of us have seen our share of sexy hotel bathrooms, right?

Some hotels have guest rooms with tubs in the middle of a room (Terranea near Los Angeles, Moon Palace in Cancun, Renaissance St. Pancras in London), or tubs in a bathroom next to wooden shutters that you can open up to the room (Gran Velas Riviera Maya). And then there are hotels that infuse the guest showers with mood lighting (citizenM in New York, below). I’m sure you can think of scores of additional examples.

I’m bringing this up because the New York Times recently ran a review of a chain hotel on the outskirts of Amsterdam that takes a new spin on the bathing-in-the-open concept (see above screen shot). Called the Fletcher, the Times says it opened last year in a cylindrical building and was designed by an “eco-chic” Dutch designer. Some of you might see it as sexy, but others…well, not so much.

The review writer had stayed in the hotel with a friend who wanted to shower in private, so she had to leave the room during the friend’s shower.

Readers: Which hotel showers or bathtubs stand out to you for whatever reason?
