After being on the road for years, traveling the world using miles and points, one of the things that often gets me excited is the start of new airplane route. Another thing that gets me interested is the opening of a brand new hotel at a destination I really like or one that I’ve been to and would love to go again. One such Marriott Bonvoy property is coming up soon at a destination I really like.

Brand New St. Regis Hotel

Marriott, late last week, released an interesting bit of news. This pertains to the opening of a brand new St. Regis hotel in Queenstown, New Zealand. My first trip to New Zealand was in 2016 and I was fortunate that I spend almost a week in Queenstown. It still remains one of my favorite places to visit in the world and I can’t wait to go back once again. The fact that a brand new St. Regis property is opening up some time next year really has be looking forward to this one.

  • The hotel will be located in a prominent neighborhood in central Queenstown
  • This St. Regis hotel will give you access to some enchanting views of the Remarkables mountain range and Lake Wakatipu

As a St. Regis property, the hotel will continue to provide certain offerings that are unique to the St. Regis brand.

Alongside the planned 145 luxurious guestrooms and suites, The St. Regis Queenstown is expected to feature the famed hallmarks of the brand including sophisticated bar and dining offerings such as The Drawing Room, The St. Regis Bar, an all-day dining venue and an event space. St. Regis’ butler service has been a signature offering of the brand for over a century, and will offer guests anticipatory, personalized service that ensure their unique preferences are understood and realized. Revered around the world as best-in-class, the Butler Service experience includes packing and unpacking services, garment pressing, and personalised in-room beverage and wake-up services.

The St. Regis Spa is slated to offer a hydrothermal facilities zone and a relaxation and wellness lounge, complemented by the hotel’s indoor heated pool and fitness centre.

The Pundit’s Mantra

As per Marriott’s press release, the property is slated to be open at some point of time by the end of 2027. I’m really looking forward to this one and will be keeping an eye on using some points and free nigh certificates once the opportunity comes by.
