The Agony of Zero

No, it’s not my little league football score from childhood, it’s the number of elite qualifying miles showing in my frequent flier account right now.  January 1 doesn’t just represent a new calendar year, it’s also a new elite qualifying year.  The segment and mileage counters reset to zero, signaling the start of a new program year in your favorite mileage scheme.  Time to start requalifying for 2012.  My first flights aren’t until the end of this month, but I’ll pick up 4 segments and 2,500 elite qualifying miles to start the new year off right.

I thought it might be fun to take a look back at 2010.

Butt in seat miles: 90,720

Segments:  85

Countries visited:  6

Cruises taken:  3

2010 was good to me.  Here’s to an even better 2011.
