I Did It! I Booked a Delta One-way Award

I know the jury is out on revenue-based mileage programs, but the advent of SkyMiles 2015 has brought us the ability to book a one-way award. While I can’t understand why it took so long, it is what it is…..the SkyMiles one-way award is here. Shortly after midnight I nabbed award seats in Business Elite (soon to be Delta One) at 62,500 miles from Atlanta to Madrid for this fall. I only need to fly one-way as I’ll be sailing back. For me, the site worked perfectly, and I found the seats, no muss, no fuss. While I’m not 100 percent convinced that this is the last booking I’ll make regarding the trip I’m planning, it’s good to know that I have something booked that will work.

Delta SkyMiles, SkyMiles one-way awards

Assuming the same travel patterns continue for me, I’m slightly better off with redeemable miles earned from flying under SkyMiles 2015. I am happy to have started the new year off by benefiting from one of the good things to come from the new program, one-way awards. (Image courtesy of Delta Air Lines)

Happy New Year!
