In truth, I fly for a lot of reasons. Business. Vacation. Transportation between points on a map. But on this Friday, I glanced out the window at just the right moment and caught a glimpse of the real reason I fly.
Contrails, clouds, sunshine, and blue sky. Good times. Enjoy your weekend!

Being a relatively tall person, I have always preferred the aisle seat, but with an increasing photography interest I think I am changing into a window seat person to catch that “above the clouds” view. Approaching the runway while flying over water creates a nice view as well for that window snapshot.
I love the view while flying and AM
A window seat person for that reason!
I keep the shade up unless asked politely to
Pull down -then it remains up just enough to see
The great wide open!
@Brian,
All things equal, I usually favor the aisle….just in case I need to get up. But I really love the window for seeing outside. There’s so much to look at.
You did not tell me that you were a window seat person, Marshall.
I need to post the views I saw and photographed on my flight out to Las Vegas…
Right on! I’m selfishly disgusted with those who taxi, takeoff, and fly with the window shades down. They might as well take the subway.
All that pic reminds me of is lots of pollution from inefficient travel, recirculated dry air, pressurized metal tubes, delays, lousy food, horrible bathrooms, unclean cabins, surly FAs. And that’s if I’m in F or J. Flying is something to be endured, not anticipated.
