Get 50% bonus Avios in Aer Lingus AerClub and Royal Air Maroc join oneworld

Very quietly, Royal Air Maroc join the oneworld alliance. The usual fanfare around this is completely absent as the airline suspended operations from 21 March 2020. Once the Government of Morocco lifts its ban, the airline will fly again.

In another subtle move, Aer Lingus AerClub members can currently earn 50% bonus Avios by transferring SuperValu Real Rewards points. These bonus deals appear from time to time, though I have yet to receive any communication about it.

Royal Air Maroc Join Oneworld

The various oneworld alliance airlines have all added Royal Air Maroc to their web pages. For example, you can see the British Airways Executive Club earning table for the Moroccan airline below.

Once the airlines are flying again, people with oneworld alliance cards will be able to earn points on many destinations throughout Africa. Perhaps it’s time to start looking into where you want to go!

Aer Lingus AerClub Bonus Avios

People living in the Republic of Ireland can earn Aer Lingus Avios when shopping at SuperValu. In fact, if you register your Visa card in the SuperValu Real Rewards programme, you will earn 2 Avios per euro spent.

Periodically, there are bonus point promotions. Currently you can earn 50% bonus Avios by transferring points from Real Rewards to AerClub through to 4 May 2020.

Overall Thoughts

It is interesting that Royal Air Maroc join the alliance and nobody really knows about it. That being said, once we return to our regularly scheduled air transport world, I’m sure it will be communicated everywhere.

When it comes to the SuperValu promotion, I have been waiting for double Avios for a while. However, that ship appears to have sailed as the last few promotions have been 50% bonus as opposed to 100%. Whether you take advantage of this or hope that something better comes along is up to you.

What do you think Royal Air Maroc joining oneworld? How about the 50% SuperValu bonus? Thank you for reading and if you have any comments or questions, please leave them below.
