Marriott’s luxury Ritz-Carlton hotel chain is in the process of updating its two-year-old app for today’s smartphone-obsessed world, the company says.

The new app will let you order a room service meal, review your bill or loyalty account, and discover travel tips for the local area, the company says. You can download the app at www.ritzcarlton.com/app. It was initially launched two years ago.

App users will also be able to check in and out, share photos and access other useful information they might need whether they’re in a Ritz-Carlton hotel – or at home. On Oct. 1, a new Instagram-like feature will be added that lets people apply filters to images and share them with friends on social networks.
