Background

I wanted an easy airport hotel to head to after landing at Fort Lauderdale Airport (FLL), and the Le Meridien Dania Beach Fort Lauderdale Airport looked like a nice option, so I booked a one-night stay.

The property was converted into a Le Meridien in 2020 after a renovation. It was formerly the Sheraton Fort Lauderdale Airport & Cruise Port Hotel. I have never stayed at a Le Meridien before, and I was excited to give the brand a try. For those not familiar with the brand, I like to think of it as a “ European Westin”, and the brand is described as a premium, Marriott-affiliated brand with European roots that offers chic, design-focused accommodations in major cities and resorts.

Takeoff Points

Date of Stay: March 2026
Pros: Nice elite breakfast, restaurant & rooms for an airport property.
Cons: The bathroom sink was hard to open, airport shuttle was small.

Arrival and Location

The Le Meridien Dania Beach Fort Lauderdale Airport does offer an airport shuttle, and you can call the front desk to request it. After I landed, I called, and the front desk told me it was already on the way to pick up other passengers. Great! Well, not so great when we got to the hotel shuttle pickup, and the small sprinter van only had 2 seats left, but there were 3 of us. The shuttle driver offered to come back, but said it would be at least 25 minutes, so we opted to just call an Uber. Sighs. Thankfully, the Uber was only about $15. The hotel also contracts with a service to take passengers to the Fort Lauderdale cruise port on the weekends.

The hotel is not really walking distance to anything, other than being almost connected to the Design Center of America (DCOA), which is a super cool building, actually. It’s an 800,000-square-foot campus primarily serving interior designers, architects, and decorators, but is open to the public for luxury home sourcing, while also serving as a corporate office complex.

They had a model of the hotel inside the Design Center of America, which was kind of cool.

When we arrived at around 11 pm, the hotel bar and restaurant were still bustling. The lobby has nice high ceilings and feels very open. The front desk associate was friendly and checked me in very quickly.

Deluxe Room

Our room was located on the 10th floor, and Deluxe Rooms are stated to be approximately 351 sqft.

The room itself is quite spacious. There are two queens with a nightstand in between, and there’s a large dresser with a countertop near the bathroom wall, which is great for counterspace. The beds were decent, with good pillows, but the sheets were a bit too thin.

There is also a large TV and an armchair with a table. Then there is a desk with a spinning chair. And a mini fridge for personal use as well as an Illy coffee machine, is provided too.

The bathroom is pretty standard, with ample counterspace and a stand-up shower. MALIN + GOETZ toiletries were also provided. The only issue was that the sink knob was super hard to open, and I hope they replace it.

Dining

The Le Meridien Dania Beach Fort Lauderdale offers a few dining options. The Constellation Cafe is an all-day restaurant serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner from 6 am to 11 pm daily.

Omelet Station

As a Platinum member, we were all able to have the breakfast buffet included, which I found to be quite generous. The buffet has hot & cold options as well as an omelet station. At the omelet station, you could also order waffles as well as other egg styles.

We also had lunch at the Constellation Cafe, and the tacos & pizza were pretty solid.

Other dining options include the lobby bar, Cabana, which has an indoor & outdoor space, and the coffee shop/snack shop, Longitude 80.

Amenities

There is a large outdoor swimming pool as well as a spacious fitness center with a yoga studio. There was a bit of a storm during my stay, so the pool pretty much stayed closed.

The Verdict

Overall, the Le Meridien Dania Beach Fort Lauderdale Airport was a perfectly solid airport option for a night. The service was great, the elite breakfast was nice, and the restaurant was pretty good. I would definitely consider staying here again in the future, perhaps even for pre-cruise.
