Background and Booking
As part of my Business class flights from Amsterdam to New York, I had a KLM Business Class Embraer 195 leg from Amsterdam to London Heathrow. Then, I would connect to my Virgin Atlantic flight from London Heathrow to New York. I had booked these flights for a total of 45,000 Virgin Points and about $450. I had never flown KLM before, so I was excited to give it a try. Too bad they don’t give the cute Delft Houses on the intra-Europe legs. KLM Delft Blue houses are the iconic miniature ceramic replicas of 17th-century Dutch buildings, filled with gin, given as gifts to Business Class passengers on intercontinental flights.
This flight was on the Embraer E195, which I would have generally quite enjoyed in Economy due to the 2-2 configuration. However, when flying in Business, due to the 2-2 layout, there is no empty middle seat. If you were flying on an A320 with a 3-3 Economy configuration, Intra-Europe business would have netted an empty middle seat for additional space/privacy. But to be fair, the Business & Economy Comfort seats do offer more legroom on this plane (first 7 rows). And, standard in intra-Europe flights, the dividing curtain can move in accordance with demand in the Business Class Cabin.

KLM Cityhopper Flight 1013
Amsterdam (AMS) to London (LHR)
Scheduled Duration: 1 Hour 20 Minutes
Seat/Cabin: 3C, Business Class
Aircraft: Embraer E195-E2
Status: On Time (10 Minutes Late)
At the Airport
I used the dedicated Sky Priority check-in lanes to check my luggage, and there was no line. Then, it led to a priority security lane, and I headed to the KLM Crown Lounge, which I had last visited back in 2023. You can check out my review of the lounge from that visit if you’d like.
The Aircraft & Flight
We boarded from a remote stand, and our aircraft was quite new, having only been delivered to KLM in November of 2024.

The cabin looks nice and sleek, and the Business Class seats offer more legroom and pitch than Economy. The first 7 rows are Business and Economy Comfort (identical seats) and offer 84 cm of legroom (compared to 74-76 cm in Economy). USB-A ports are also available for charging.

We pushed back about 10 minutes behind schedule. The captain announced that the flight time would be a short 50 minutes in the air.
In terms of Wi-Fi, they offered a free messaging pass and an 18 EUR stream pass.
Shortly after we reached cruising altitude, there was a full meal service served in a cute box. I was pleasantly surprised, as the contents were quite tasty. Loved the noodle dish and the macarons.

I visited the lavatory during the flight as I drank a bit too much at the lounge, and it was pretty clean.

We landed at our scheduled arrival time, and we deplaned about 10 minutes late.
The Verdict
Overall, I found the KLM Business Class Embraer 195 to be a solid experience. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of meal service, and would definitely fly KLM again.
