Background & Booking
For my first visit to Dublin, I decided to stay at the Hyatt Centric Liberties Dublin. I was travelling with family, and we decided to book two rooms, partially on World of Hyatt Points/Certificates as well as on cash rates.
At the time of posting, the Hyatt Centric Liberties Dublin is currently a Category 5 Property in the World of Hyatt Program, and cash rates start at around $150 in low season, to $350 in high season per night.
The hotel opened in the fall of 2019 and features 234 rooms & suites. Before this Hyatt Centric in Dublin, I most recently stayed at the Hyatt Centric in Fort Lauderdale.

Takeoff Points
Date of Stay: August 2025
Pros: Friendly staff, large rooms.
Cons: Breakfast was limited.
Takeoff Point: Hyatt Centric The Liberties Dublin offered a comfortable stay to explore Dublin for the first time. While not quite in the city center, it is a short walk, and the rooms were spacious.
Arrival and Location
I emailed the hotel before my stay, and they were helpful and responsive to ensure we had connecting rooms, despite having separate bookings, which was much appreciated.
The Liberties has a lot of distilleries nearby, and central Dublin is within a 15-minute walk. Dublin is quite small, but the Hyatt Centric is a bit west of the city center. The area directly around the hotel is on the quieter side, with many of the shops nearby closing early.
We were quickly checked in by a friendly agent, and the manager came to introduce herself as well.

The Room
We had a 2 Twin Room connecting to a 1 King Room. I stayed in the 1 King Room, and the layouts were very similar, just the bedding configuration was different.

There’s an open-air closet that features hangers, two drawers, and an espresso machine, plus a hot water maker and a fridge for personal use.

As you enter the room, to the left is a desk. The hairdryer is also installed at this desk, and you can’t really take it away. There are also two large paper water bottles that are refillable, which was a nice touch.

Then there’s a large king-size bed, though it was two twin mattresses glued together, but the sheets were for one king. I thought that was interesting. There were nightstands on each side with both charging ports and USB-C, as well as light controls.
At the window, there were two seats plus a table. The room was quite spacious, and the website quotes the room as 258 – 279 sq ft.
Next to the connecting door was an umbrella and two hooks.
Bathroom
For the bathroom, there was ample counter space, but a scale that was out of batteries. The shower had a combined wand/showerhead, which would be nice if they had a wand + a rainfall. At least it was a real glass door, so the bathroom did not flood.
Toiletries were branded by Prija. It was a bit weird that they gave a bar of soap, hand wash, lotion at the sink area, but in the shower, it was a conditioner and a shampoo/shower gel all in one? Would have much preferred a separate shower gel.

Liberties Gate Restaurant
This is the main restaurant for the hotel, open all day, and also features a bar.

We had breakfast at the hotel restaurant, and it was alright. We did it for two days out of our three-night stay, as the selection was a bit limited. You could order one item from the a la carte menu and get items from the continental breakfast list. There is no buffet set up, though it looks like the space in the back might have previously been set up for it. One day, the wait for breakfast was about half an hour, and it seemed like the service couldn’t keep up with the number of guests.

Also, I tried the afternoon tea, and all the items were cold/felt a bit premade, so I probably won’t try it again.

Fitness Center
There is a fitness center on the basement level (-1). It was adequately sized, and during an evening workout, there was no one there but me. It has treadmills, ellipticals, and free weights.
The Verdict
Overall, the Hyatt Centric The Liberties Dublin provided an adequate stay for my first time in Dublin. It’s a relatively short walk to central Dublin, and the rooms were comfortable.
