Background & Access

A friend and I visited the Escape Lounge San Juan (SJU) on our way back to New York after spending the 4th of July in Puerto Rico. I’ve visited two other Escape Lounges before, the Fort Lauderdale location and the Oakland one, so this was my 3rd unique location.

It’s located in Terminal B, opposite Gate B2. We were flying Delta, which operates out of B, so our gate wasn’t too far away. Although the other terminals (A, C, D) are also connected airside, you can still visit this lounge even if your flight is not departing from B. It was exciting to visit this lounge, which had just opened in June of 2025, so we were able to visit it shortly after it opened.

Current hours at the time of this posting are from 6 am to 9 pm. With my American Express Platinum, I could access the lounge & could bring two complimentary guests. Alternatively, the walk-up price is $55 per person.

While you enter the lounge at the gate level, the lounge itself is a floor below.

The Lounge

When we visited around noon on a Sunday, the lounge was at capacity. The friendly agent originally said we would have to wait, but then, to our luck, a large group left the lounge, so we were granted access. The lounge is quite small, but it does offer a buffet area, seating, and bathrooms.

As you make your way down the stairs, you’ll see the buffet area.

They were serving lunch when we arrived, and the hot food selection was quite good. The lechon (pork) and chicken were very tasty. They also had some sandwiches, salads, snacks & bakery items.

Seating was spread around the lounge, with dining-style tables near the buffet, and various seating types in the back.

Then, the the back near the bathrooms, there is a small bar with complimentary alcoholic beverages.

It’s quite a small lounge, and I’m sure during peak periods you may have to wait to get a spot.

The Verdict

Overall, the Escape Lounge San Juan (SJU) is a nice place to grab a bite and relax before a flight. The food offerings at lunch were pretty good, though the lounge is quite small and could get crowded during peak times.
