Background
For the Presidents’ Day long weekend, I decided to take a quick trip with a friend to Bermuda in hopes of a bit warmer weather. I previously flew BermudAir from Bermuda to White Plains on the E190, and now they have service from LaGuardia. So, I booked a New York (LGA) to Bermuda (BDA) flight on the outbound, but had to book American on the return since BermudAir didn’t operate to the New York area on Monday. BermudAir does serve both LaGuardia (LGA), Newark (EWR), and Westchester (HPN).
Flight Details
BermudAir Flight 281
New York (LGA) to Bermuda (BDA)
Scheduled Duration: 2 Hours 16 minutes
Status: Early (30 minutes)
Seat/Cabin: 6C (Economy- Preferred Plus Seat)
Aircraft: Embraer E175
At the Airport
Unfortunately, the low point is that BermudAir uses Terminal A at LaGuardia, also known as the Marine Air Terminal. This is the non-renovated terminal at LGA, whereas Terminals B and C are state-of-the-art.
The Marine Air Terminal is tiny, old, and inefficient, only serving Spirit and BermudAir. It was quite confusing entering, as I saw signs for BermudAir but never saw a check-in desk.

Additionally, on the flight board, it showed the inbound planes’ arrival, but it never showed departure information.
We only had carry-on bags, so we just went straight to security. It was a mess, thankfully a Spirit agent pointed me to the TSA PreCheck line. The general security line moved super slow, only had a dedicated officer, and the TSA PreCheck line also had one dedicated officer. Only 2 conveyor belts to check carry-on items were available, so the line moved slowly and took about 25 minutes. I may have underestimated the amount of time it would take since I’m used to the TSA PreCheck lines at Terminal B and C going by super quickly.

Once past security, the confusion continued. At first, we were a bit frazzled as gates 2-6 were all Spirit and quite a mess. After making a full 360, we saw this isolated gate with a runway of seating, which led to a BermudAir sign. Phew, we found it!
We arrived at the gate 5 minutes before the scheduled boarding time (30 minutes before departure), and the jet bridge was open. There were two friendly agents, and I asked them if they had already started boarding, as it seemed like they had started early. We were one of the last passengers on the plane (maybe 4-5 after us), and the plane was pretty full for BermudAir, perhaps 75% full?
BermudAir E175 Economy Cabin
The BermudAir Embraer 175 has 70 seats in a 2-2 configuration. There are 10 Business Class seats and 60 Economy Class seats.

We got assigned seats in row 6, which are designated as “Preferred Plus” seats. On the Embraer 175, there are no special Business Class seats like the Embraer 190. On our flight, rows 1-5 are designated as Business Class, where the aisle seat is blocked off. Rows 6 & 7 are “Preferred Plus” seats and offer a bit of extra legroom. I believe they offer the same amount of pitch (34″) as Business Class, while the standard Economy seats have 32″ inches of pitch.

The legroom in row 6 was quite good, and I do like the Embraer 175.

It was a bit of trouble to find overhead space since the bins are small, so we had to put our bags about 10 rows back, but we managed.
Once settled in, the captain let us know that the flight would be 1 hour and 35 minutes.
We left the gate 20 minutes before our scheduled departure time, and took off a couple of minutes before our scheduled departure.
Elevated Onboard Service
Even in the economy cabin, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages are included. Once we hit cruising altitude, the flight attendants came by with a beverage and cookie service. I love that they use real glassware.

While there is no Wi-Fi, they do let you stream to your device, and they have a selection of movies and TV shows.

I visited the lavatory at the beginning of the flight, and it was clean with D.S. & Durga soap (which American Airlines used to use in business class).

We ended up landing about 40 minutes early and got to the gate 30 minutes early. What a quick flight!
The Verdict
Overall, my BermudAir was a nice experience, minus leaving from the LGA Marine Air Terminal. The onboard experience is nice and elevated, with glassware. The flight went by so quickly, and we had an early arrival. I would definitely fly BermudAir again.

I love the MAT at LGA… would prefer it any time. So much easier to come and go.
