Reader Poll: What Can Airlines Do to Improve Their Reputation?

a blue and white logo

One of the things I ponder from time to time is the lousy reputation that airlines have….well, mainly U.S. airlines, but I digress. I have some ideas about things airlines could do to improve their standing, but I’m curious to hear from readers. Take a look at the latest reader poll and let me know what you think. What is the most important thing an airline can do to improve its reputation? You can only pick one answer, but please leave additional thoughts in the comments section. I plan to feature some of your thoughts in an upcoming blog post. Sorry, there are no polls available at the moment.

  1. For whatever reason, when I try to vote I can’t, but I do see the options…

Just as well cause the possible replies don’t fit how I’d answer…

They were starved for so long trying to turn a profit, they are now stuffing themselves like obnoxious pigs, thanks to the DOJ approving mergers, the improved economy, and their use of ancillary services like bags, change fees, etc. as new profit centers.

Like everything else, their glutton activity will rain down on them, the DOJ will stop with the lenient anti trust approval, Congress will finally hear the public and put a stop to the airlines over-reaching for fees, and as a result, their profit centers will take a hit, their stock prices will swoon, and some sanity will be recouped.

If you think extra legroom will suddenly turn a pig into a baby deer, you’re mistaken. In their haste to make up for years of lack of profits and struggling, they’ve screwed the pooch, eg the public. And it won’t be forgotten. Their honeymoon will shortly end.
