Honestly, there is a small benefit to those that I recommend fly southwest (the casual leisure traveler who only flies a few times a year) in that the points stay as long as you have activity in your account.
Lemme help you out: It stinks unless someone else is paying for your travel. Only BS customers are really going to get value from it and no one is doing that out of their own pocket. It is no longer a compelling program for the occasional or leisure traveler.
