Australia’s Qantas is offering their members a choice between double status credits or double points. This is open to everyone who is enrolled in Qantas Frequent Flyer.
There is a limited window of opportunity here, as you need to make a booking before 3 September 2025. Happily you can travel all the way through to 22 August 2026, so you can book well in advance.
Double Status Credits or Double Points?
For most people, double status credits is going to be the big attraction here. These will count towards your earning for the year and also towards your lifetime status. I imagine double points will be useful for those who are already at a very high Qantas status and want to maximise the potential for redemption opportunities.

Overall Thoughts
All the details are available on the enrollment page on the Qantas website. Even though I haven’t credited a flight to Qantas Frequent Flyer in 14 years or so, I took the plunge. I’ll be having a good hunt around to see if I can find any decent deals for a trip to Australia.
It is great these also count towards lifetime status. Originally these were not going to, but that has been changed in a very quick backflip from the airline. Qantas is great in having lifetime Silver (oneworld Ruby) as well as lifetime Gold (oneworld Sapphire – the one you really want for the lounge access!).
Will you be taking part in this offer of double status credits from Qantas? Or will you buck the trend and go for double points? Thank you for reading and if you have any comments or questions, please leave them below.
