After a few nights away, it was time to fly Malta to Dublin with Aer Lingus. These services began the same month and were quite full in both directions.
Malta Airport features an outdoor observation deck, where I spent some time before flight. This is because you’re not able to go through security too early, and I’d arrived around 13:30 for my 18:45 departure.
Boarding
Close to flight time, I headed back down to the main concourse and through Passport control. I waited at the gate for a little while, before boarding started and then we all cooled our heels within spitting distance of the plane while they loaded some passengers with reduced mobility.

Seat: Economy 3A

Once on board, I stowed my carry-on, took my seat and waited for boarding to finish. Soon enough we buttoned up, had the safety demonstration and headed into the air to Dublin.
Malta to Dublin
Everyone really wanted to get home, and having a flight punctuated by unhappy babies screaming is never fun. Music from my earphones did a good job drowning that out. Service on board commenced and I purchased a “Salt ‘N’ Chilli Chicken Wrap”, a Strawberry Daiquiri Funkin’ Cocktail and a water.
Overall Thoughts
Aer Lingus operate a perfectly fine service from Malta to Dublin. There may have been around 20 seats or so free on each flight, so loads on the new service are good. Of course, I can’t speak for yields, but it seems the route is doing well enough.
The buy on board offering is pretty decent, though I did see a bunch of unsold Ham and Cheese toasties come out of the oven at one point. Regardless, the crew were friendly and efficient and it was a decent flight all round.
