In previous posts, I’ve written about my credit card strategy. I try to optimize my earning of miles and points by a few different activities. Credit card sign-up bonuses, everyday bonus spending and retention bonuses keep adding to my balance even when I’m not on the road. I’ve always advocated having a long-term relationship with the bank that’s in good faith. Cards that offer long term value beyond the sign-up bonus offer a good incentive to carry credit cards in your wallet. One such card is the Chase Ink Business Unlimited credit card, which is currently offering a welcome bonus of 90,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points. Per many sources, this limited time bonus may be pulled in the early hours of Nov 7, 2024. For a card that charges no annual fee, there are some really compelling reasons why you should opt for the card right now with the limited time welcome bonus.

1. Welcome Bonus: 90,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points

Chase advertises this sign-up bonus as a $900 cash back bonus. However, you’ll get this bonus in the form of 90,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points. If you have a card that earns Ultimate Rewards, you can use the bonus as 90,000 Ultimate Rewards points bonus.

Simply put, if you have the Chase Ink Preferred, Chase Sapphire Reserve or the Chase Sapphire Preferred Card, you’ll earn 90,000 Ultimate Rewards points which can also be transferred to Chase’s Airline and Hotel partners.

Currently, you’ll earn 90,000 Ultimate Rewards points after you spend $6,000 on purchases in the first three months after you open the account.

2. NO ANNUAL FEE

You don’t have to worry about a retention bonus or think about canceling the card. The card has no annual fee and you can hold on to it long term at no extra cost.

3. SIMPLE EARNING CATEGORIES

The card earns you a simple 1.5% cash back or 1.5x Ultimate Rewards point per dollar spent. Unlike the Blue Business Plus credit card by American Express, there’s no cap on earning the 1.5x bonus.

4. INTRO APR

A lot of businesses find lower intro APRs quite valuable, especially while in the process of setting up a new business. Currently, you can avail of an intro 0% APR for the first 12 months after you get the card.

5. NO FEE EMPLOYEE CARDS

You can add employee cards to your account at no additional cost.

6. ADDITIONAL BENEFITS

The Ink Business Unlimited card also offers additional protections and benefits like fraud protection, travel emergency services, extended warranty protection, purchase protection and auto rental collision damage waiver.

7. REDEMPTION OPTIONS

This is where you can truly maximize the value of the points that you earn with this card. If you have the Chase Ink Preferred, Chase Sapphire Preferred or the Chase Sapphire Reserve, you can simply transfer points to the Ultimate Rewards earning card from the Ink Business Limited. This will open all the redemption options for you.

You’ll get a flat 1.25 cents per point when you redeem for travel on Chase.com with the Ink Business Preferred and the Chase Sapphire Preferred. You’ll get 1.5 cents per point when you redeem for travel on Chase.com with the Chase Sapphire Reserve.

Also, you can transfer those points to Chase’s Airline and Hotel partners at a 1:1 ratio:

Airline Partners

Singapore Airlines

United Airlines

Southwest Airlines

JetBlue

British Airways/Iberia/Air Lingus

Emirates

Air France/KLM

Virgin Atlantic

Hotel Partners

THE PUNDIT’S MANTRA

Before you apply, please note that this card is subject to Chase’s 5/24 rule. However, since this is a small business card, getting approved for it will not add to your existing 5/24 tally.

Given the $0 annual fee, easy earning on everyday spend and the 90,000 points sign-up bonus, the Ink Business Unlimited Card is a fantastic card to add to your wallet and keep in the long run.
