Hyatt’s loyalty program is about to undergo a shakeup next month. While the news may not be hunky dory on that front, Hyatt continues to expand across the Americas, adding four new properties to the Unbound collection.

New Hyatt Hotels
Hyatt has added four new properties into The Unbound Collection, ranging from a MICHELIN-recognised boutique on Seattle’s waterfront to a private island resort in the Dominican Republic. Let’s break down what you actually need to know.

Hotel 1,000
With 120 rooms and suites, a MICHELIN One Key distinction and a location that puts you within walking distance of Pike Place Market and the waterfront, Hotel 1000 boasts of Puget Sound views and the maritime-inspired All Water Seafood restaurant that make this feel like a genuine Seattle experience rather than a generic business hotel with a loyalty badge slapped on. The hotel can be a good option for a Pacific Northwest layover before Alaska or before heading north. Category placement will determine whether this is an outstanding sweet spot or just a solid redemption, watch for the pricing closely, especially after May’s changes kick in.
The Georgian, Santa Monica
Originally opened in 1933 and restored in 2023, The Georgian brings genuine heritage to a loyalty portfolio that sometimes skews toward the newly-built. The 84-room property, 28 of which are suites, sits on the Santa Monica waterfront with Mediterranean cuisine at Sirena and a steakhouse-piano bar hybrid called the Georgian Room. The in-suite mini bar cocktail buzzer system is a unique detail to be pointed out!
Unbound properties command a premium, but a beachfront Santa Monica hotel with this kind of history and suite count is legitimately aspirational. The 28-suite ratio, fully a third of the property, means suite upgrades might actually materialize for Globalists.
Cayo Levantado Resort
This property is located on a private island off the northern Dominican Republic coast with 218 suites, personal ambassadors around the clock, multiple restaurants and a wellness zone called Yubarta with four distinct pathways, Renew, Refresh, Relax, and Restore. This is the kind of property that photos on Instagram but also genuinely delivers in person. Private island resorts on points are always punchy value, because the cash rate tends to be astronomical and the experience is naturally self-contained.
This property is expected to join the Collection this summer. This is the headline redemption of the four. All-inclusive resort on a private island and personal ambassador service. If you have Globalist status, the value stacks considerably.
The Clayfield, Niagara-on-the-Lake
Niagara-on-the-Lake is genuinely beautiful wine country and a property designed around the region’s clay-rich terroir with vinotherapy spa treatments and a formal collaboration with Stratus Vineyards is a compelling pitch for anyone who usually books into Champagne or Tuscany. It opens mid-summer and is already taking reservations.
The Pundit’s Mantra
Hyatt’s 2026 Unbound pipeline is genuinely impressive. Two more properties, The Digby in Savannah, Georgia, and Casa Duhau in Mendoza, Argentina, are slated for 2027, which suggests the portfolio is on a growth trajectory. Mendoza in particular is a standout addition for wine-obsessed points collectors who’ve burned through the usual European spots.
The strategic play for loyal Hyatt members is straightforward: concentrate spend to maintain or earn Globalist before these properties open, bank points now and set calendar reminders for each opening announcement. First-week award availability on new Unbound properties should ideally be better than it will be six months in.
