JetBlue and Brightline launch partnership that will begin an intermodal opportunity enabling travelers to book combined air and rail itineraries across Florida. This collaboration allows JetBlue customers to purchase Brightline train tickets directly through jetblue.com, streamlining travel between key cities such as Miami, Fort Lauderdale, West Palm Beach, and Orlando. The initiative aims to enhance connectivity and convenience for passengers navigating Central and South Florida.
JetBlue and Brightline Launch Partnership: Connections and Routes
The partnership integrates JetBlue’s flights with Brightline’s high-speed rail service, which connects Miami, Aventura, Fort Lauderdale, Boca Raton, West Palm Beach, and Orlando. Notably, Brightline’s Orlando station is situated directly at Orlando International Airport, facilitating seamless transfers between air and rail. In South Florida, Brightline offers shuttle services between airports and nearby stations, included in the JetBlue air-and-rail booking, to further ease passenger movement.

Booking Options and Cabin Classes
Customers can book integrated air-rail itineraries directly on jetblue.com. JetBlue’s Mint® and Core experience passengers are matched with Brightline’s Premium and Smart fare classes, respectively. Brightline’s Premium service offers enhanced amenities, including spacious seating and onboard refreshments, while the Smart class provides a comfortable and efficient travel experience.

Potential Expansion
This partnership marks JetBlue’s first intermodal agreement, potentially setting a precedent for future collaborations. Given JetBlue’s significant presence in Florida and Brightline’s ongoing expansion efforts, including plans to extend service to Tampa and introduce a commuter program in South Florida, there is potential for the partnership to evolve. Future developments may include integrated loyalty programs, expanded route offerings, and enhanced booking capabilities, further solidifying the synergy between air and rail travel in the region.

Conrado’s Thoughts
This is a great start to intermodal partnerships in the US! Although some already exist (in the form of bus-air connections), this is the first true rail-air intermodal partnership. Years ago, United connected with Amtrak at Newark, however, this was not the same as the current Jetblue and Brightline partnership. In Europe, such partnerships are common. A few months ago, Condor Airlines and Deutsche Bahn launched a similar partnership. I look forward to more airlines joining Brightline and other rail operators to offer more connections!
