Hyatt Diamond – I Think I’m Going to Like This

My first check-in as a Hyatt Diamond is done, and I’m in the middle of my stay now. As the title implies, I think I’m going to like this. Arriving at the hotel front desk, I was immediately greeted and assisted by a friendly front desk clerk. She welcomed me, took my information, and immediately thanked me for being a Hyatt Diamond member. As she processed the check in, she advised me of the amenities available to me, points or a food & beverage amenity. I went with the food & beverage just to see what it was. There were choices of wines, beers, and various snack foods. I went with the wine. Shocker. Since this hotel has no club lounge, I get breakfast in the restaurant for up to 4 people. There’s more, but I’ll save that for the hotel review. Best of all I get views like this.

  1. Their footprint needs to be bigger to be a realistic option for me. Just never a Hyatt where I’m headed

  2. On the Diamond challenge now. Great service, very nice hotels, and big free breakfasts. Very impressive. My favorite hotel program even on Plat status.

  3. Meg, did they ask for stay info or just to see your status level? I am going to do a match from HHonors Gold but I only have one stay there, the status is from the Reserve card.

  4. In my opinion, unless you’re at an Andaz or a Park Hyatt, nearly every Hyatt is the same…even more so than the small footprint, this is what keeps me from chasing status with Hyatt. Just don’t opt for Hyatt stays really.

  5. Forgot to add, I was status matched when I was Platinum Premier with Marriott. They made it very easy to achieve this status once I sent all my info!

  6. I was Diamond a few years back, and I will say I was spoiled! I liked the free breakfast and/or club access, the free Wifi and the welcome amenity….

I also agree that their hotels are a little more unique. I do have a few favorite Hyatt properties, but I no longer have that status. Enjoy!

  7. Consistently impressed w/ Hyatt’s recognition of its loyalty members. Soft product at a Hyatt is usually on the high end.

If only they had a larger footprint, and their hotels were a little less cookie-cutter..
